The Face Behind it All
Grace Wani Murphy is a resilient and compassionate women and children's advocate whose inspiring journey began in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, where she was born In the early 90s.
In 2014, she moved to the United States, dedicating her first year to learning English at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). She then pursued an Associate Degree in Science/Chemistry, graduating in 2018, before earning a Bachelor of Science in Global Community Health from George Mason University in 2021.
In 2018, Grace’s dedication to children’s health, education, and protection earned her the People’s Choice Award at the Miss Africa USA pageant. Through this platform, she served as a Global Ambassador for several nonprofit organizations, a role she holds with great pride.
July 2024 marked a joyous milestone as Grace married Bruce Anthony Murphy. That same year, she achieved a remarkable academic accomplishment by earning her Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University (LSU), a journey she shared with her late sister, Lisa Nankafu.
Passionate about mental health, Grace published a book titled “Healing Your Silent Scars: Understanding, Embracing, and Overcoming Trauma.”https://a.co/d/10aXrDN
Using fictional characters, she bravely explores deeply personal experiences she had never spoken about before, aiming to raise awareness about mental health—especially within the African community, where the topic still remains largely taboo.
Starting in 2025, through THE VOW, she is bring women together to have deep conversations about career aspirations, entrepreneurship and women's well-being.
